Artist To Watch: Jevon

Our artist to watch this week is Brazilian, Filipino & Jamaican born, London based, producer, singer, rapper and instrumentalist Jevon. Having worked with artists such as Stefflon Don, Yxng Bane and RAY BLK and many other young UK artists, he is now emerging as his own product, displaying his talent for everyone to see.

His first EP is due to drop later this year (with the first two singles from it “Redemption” and “Judas” already out), giving us an insight into what he went through growing up, exposing his vulnerability in youth and the experiences that have formed his character and by extrapolation his musical style and vision.

“Judas” came out two days ago on Monday (25th June 2018) – through distributor Platoon, known for working with Jorja Smith, Mr Eazi, Maleek Berry and Stefflon Don to name a few – and in contrast with his other more hip-hop/grime centred tracks, he demonstrates his versatility by playing with dancehall and R&B vibes reminiscent of Drake. It’s my favourite track of his to date, and it would be well worth your time having a listen – watch this space!
