A$AP Rocky & Skepta – Praise The Lord (SKUM & CRVE U Remix)

17-year-old bedroom producer Jared Rapoza, also known as CRVE U, has been making waves over the past few years in the online electronic music sphere. Going from producing his own music to running a collective, called Epicure, and now interning at streaming service Audiomack, he is going from strength to strength and is showing no signs of slowing down. Today I have the pleasure of writing about his latest release, a remix of A$AP Rocky & Skepta’s summer track “Praise The Lord”, in collaboration with Swedish producer duo SKUM

On working together, CRVE U remarked: “I dig SKUM’s style and felt this remix was a perfect opportunity to collaborate with the Stockholm based duo, which was a long time due. We can’t wait to see the reaction for our rendition of A$AP and Skepta’s catchy tune.”

I can say post-release that the remix has been received with great success, having racked up 50,000 plays on SoundCloud and 38,000 on Audiomack within a week, adding another bow to CRVE U’s quiver of quality remixes.

While allowing the recognisable parts of the original to shine through, the remix combines ethnic flute melodies with a quirky chord progression and flowing 808s to create an original fusion of the trap and melodic vibes we have come to know these producers for.
