In contrast to most of our features here on The Music Elk, we are straying from our mostly electronic focus to South-California-based indie rock band Daise, who have just released single “Sights of Blue”. The four part group, comprised of Eli, Edwin, Justin & Luke, released their first track of 2018, “In The Garden”, this past May, and have a full-length debut coming soon.
‘Sights of Blue’ was written on the subject that almost every person can relate to, about being in a relationship where they have been mistreated and not having the efforts they invest into the relationship reciprocated. Ultimately in the end, they should realize they deserve better, recognize when it’s time to move on, and start focusing on making themselves happy again.
– Eli (lead vocalist)
The vibe of Two Door Cinema Club springs to mind immediately when listening to Daise, with their own twist on the smooth dream-pop sound. The vocals, washed out guitar, bass and drum all come together to form an eclectic, thought-provoking product I’m sure you’ll love.
Daise will be opening for The Boxer Rebellion on September 27th at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, so be sure to go and check them out if you’re in the neighbourhood!
