Ashe releases “No Roots” cover

Fast-rising artist Ashlyn Willson, better known as Ashe, has recorded a cover of Alice Merton’s “No Roots” for Mom+Pop Music’s 10 year anniversary. The original was released on that same label almost 2 years ago.

While most of the San Diego-based songwriter’s tracks feature electronic indie-pop beats, she chose an acoustic piano for this cover – shifting the focus to her unique voice. I can’t get over the magical vocals in the second pre-chorus. That part gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it.

You’ll find this cover on the album titled “10 Years of Mom+Pop”, but this is not the only thing Ashe has released this month. If you haven’t heard it yet, you should definitely check out her collaboration with Party Pupils & Max called “Love Me For The Weekend”. It’s a groovy ‘future funk’ track that will 100% make you want to get up and dance.
